Sainsbury's - ASDA merger: Sainsbury's must not cut staff pay

Many of you will have seen the news regarding Sainsbury's proposed merger with ASDA. You may have even seen the footage of Sainsbury's CEO Mike Coupe singing ''we're in the money" in-between interviews on the news.

Yet at the same time Sainsbury's is planning to cut the pay packets of their own hardworking staff meaning some staff could lose up to £3,000 a year. Despite basic wages going up, cuts to allowances for those working nights and unsociable hours will see their pay cut. Bonuses and paid breaks are also set to go.

It's simply staggering that Sainsbury's are attacking their own staff in such a way and trying to pretend their staff will be better off. I've joined many of my colleagues in signing the letter below that has been sent to the PM and would urge you to sign this petition.
