Government won't Meet Those Affected by Blackburn House Closure

Does this government really care about Stoke-on-Trent?

Many of you will remember the announcement from HMRC that they intend to close its Blackburn House Tax Office in Hanley and put at risk 200 jobs. I immediately wrote to the Treasury to ask them to meet with me and local stakeholders to discuss a way forward and try and plot a different way forward. However, as you can see from the below letter the government won't even sit down with us.

They don't even have the courtesy or time to sit down with those affected. To me this is scandalous and shows that the promises of support for regions outside London and the South East are utterly meaningless. We will fight on though.
