Gareth visits St. Joseph's college as guest speaker

Last night I had the pleasure of being the guest speaker at St Joseph's college prize giving evening. I was asked to say a few words about my role as an MP and give the young people in the audience some advice as they continue their education.

Now, having had a brief look at some of the achievements of the winners it was pretty clear they were an exceptional group of young people. But I shared with them my thoughts on the importance of helping others and being prepared to fail and that experiencing disappointment and how you deal with it, is just as important as when you experience success.

I'm so very proud of the young people in our city. They are our future and they inspire me everyday. I'm pictured with Head Teacher Melissa Roberts, Head Girl Rashmini Arnold and Head Boy Nathan Thorley.
